ProtectiFlex^® Blast Mitigation Building Product

A cementitious-based product developed to protect structures from extreme loading threats including blast, ballistic, impact, weapon effects, seismic, and forced entry.

Provides a thinner profile and is 30% lighter in density than concrete.

Fabricated into masonry, cast-in-place, composite and precast forms with enhanced tension to strain material characteristics, optimized density, enhanced dampening properties and minimized spall.

ProtectiFlex^® blocks and panels can be produced in various thicknesses and profiles to meet project-specific design performance requirements.

Available in a spray-applied shotcrete application for retrofit of existing construction

Has been tested under severe loading with promising results:

• Direct-fire flame
• Standard fire testing – rated at 4” thick for 1100 C degrees at 2 hours
• Seismic
• Blast – arena test results of HLOP no damage at 9 psi & 49 psi-ms, MLOP minimal damage at 28 psi & 200 psi-ms, and LLOP some cracking at 65 psi & 450 psi-ms
• contact charge detonations – minor breach/spall with limited light debris spread versus total destruction of reinforced concrete panel with large hazardous debris and wide spread pattern
• Fragmentation and impact mitigation testing from weapon effects.
